Windows 10 - Change Multiple Displays Mode

What is it?

When multiple displays are attached to a computer, there are a few display mode options:

Extend- Multiple Screens show different applications, and you drag programs between them.

Duplicate - The screens show the same information/programs.

When to use?

When connecting to a projector or 2nd monitor.

 

What to do?

  1. Right click on an empty area of the desktop
  2. Choose Display Settings

Right click on desktop and select Display Properties

3. Scroll Down to the Multiple displays area and select select Duplicate these displays or Extend these displays

Choose the Multiple Displays option

 

Duplicate: Both screens show the same.

Extend: The screens show different programs, and you can drag programs between the screens.
