Microsoft MFA

What is it?

Multi-Factor Authentication is the service that prompts you for a secondary approval of the login.

Multi-Factor Methods:

  • Authentication App
  • Cell Phone Text
  • Cell Phone Call
  • Hardware Security Key (Yubikey)

Multi-Factor Authentication increases security by verifying that any attempt made to login with Green River credentials are verified as legitimately made by the owner of the account.

Who is eligible to use this service?

Multi-Factor Authentication is required for all employees. All Students are eligible and encouraged to have Multi Factor Authentication enabled.

How to use it?

MFA is enabled by default for all GRC Employees

For Students, MFA can be enabled by selecting the "Enable MFA" button.

If you have MFA enabled and lose your phone or security key, select the "Reset MFA Options" to be re-prompted to set up new MFA devices/methods.

Hardware security keys are also available if you do not want to or are unable to use a cell phone. Select "Request Hardware Security Key" to submit that request.
